The gateway to success for aspiring manga artists! Applications for Kyoto International Manga Awards open.
Kyoto City and KYOTO INTERNATIONAL MANGA ANIME FAIR Executive Committee are announcing opening of the applications for the Kyoto International Manga Awards 2018, aimed at supporting aspiring manga artists toward their pro debut.

Kyoto International Manga Awards 2018 Outline

Kyoto International Manga Awards 2018 was founded to create debut opportunities for aspiring manga artists. This year we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the “Declaration of Kyoto as a City Open to the Free Exchange of World Cultures”. To commemorate that, applications will be accepted not only from Japan, China, Korea and Taiwan but from the whole world. Authors of the chosen top three works in the international category will be invited to KYOTO INTERNATIONAL MANGA ANIME FAIR and awarded on stage.

About applications

Application categories / award categories A. Japanese Category 1. Grand Prix 2. The Kyoto Award Chosen from applicants living, working and studying in Kyoto 3. The Kansai Students Award Chosen from applicants studying in schools in the Kansai Area B. International Category One grand prize winner and two semi grand prize winners will be chosen from applications all around the world (excluding applicants living in Japan).
